The Modular Synthesizer Ensemble is a participatory music project and offers people without musical experience the opportunity to play electronic music in a collective.
The participants independently design the process of creating analogue electronic sounds, experimenting, improvising and composing together.
The project begins with a practical and clear introduction to the basic functioning of the modular synthesiser. Afterwards, the participants work independently on their “own” instrument. The evening will also focus on the special feature of the Modular Synthesizer, the so-called control voltage.
The exhibition at Salon Krenek also includes the Buchla 100 Series Modular Synthesizer by Ernst Krenek. This historic instrument from 1967 will also be examined and listened to in detail.
