Every year, a Modular Synthesiser Ensemble Workshop takes place at Salon Krenek. We owe this tradition on the one hand to the innovative team at Salon Krenek and on the other hand, of course, to Ernst Krenek himself.
He was one of the most versatile Austrian composers of the 20th century and had been intensively involved with electronic music since the 1950s. In 1967, he personally bought a Buchla 100 Series Modular Synthesiser from Don Buchla.
The instrument is part of Ernst Krenek’s estate and is on display in the Salon Krenek.
